  • Localization: It is situated in Francavilla Fontana, a town near Brindisi.

  • Products: This farm produces first of all oil and wine, but also wheat, fruit and vegetables.

  • Methods used for growing: Between the methods used for growing we can find the use of traditional tools; just the harvest of grapes for the production of wine is made by hand, without the help of tools, in order to prevent the risk of damages on the grapes.

  • Where can we buy their products?: Villa Buontempo products can be bought directly in the enterprise, in trade fairs, in specialized shops or through order by phone or e-mail. They are also included in the menu of  some local restaurants.

  • Advertising: the educational farm as enterprise is promoted by local radio and TV programs, but also through the Internet sites specialized in this field. The different products, instead, are promoted in trade fairs, on social media such as facebook, through e-mail and newsletters.

  • Respect for the environment: Villa Buontempo pays also attention to the respect for the environment, in particular to waste processing.

  • New projects: The farm is cooperating with other enterprises of the same field in order to:

    • Organize new events for the promotion of organic products;

    • Develop strategies for the selling on the whole national territory;

    • Develop strategies for the selling abroad.

    • Expectations for the future: Claudia wants to improve the processing capacity of raw materials and wants to improve the use of the educational farm in order to realize a sort of “social farm”. In particular she wants to preserve the history of her enterprise, to pass on local traditions and to spread knowledge and products.

    • Requests to European Union: According to Claudia the European Union should intervene with stricter laws against counterfeiting and laws for the preservation of local products, which are symbol of territorial culture and wealth.

    • How can be young people motivated in working in a farm?: According to Claudia, motivation derives from knowledge. Only knowing the farm life it’s possible to feel the attraction, the need and the pleasure of working in a farm.
